Herd, Nationals Wallop Wolverines in Game 3 of DS
The Jacksonville Nationals moved to within one game of the League Championship Series, downing the visiting Riverside Wolverines at Nationals Park by a score of 14-2. Nationals shortstop Caleb Herd did some major damage. He hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The win gives the Nationals a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Adam Barker barreled up a slider from Dermot Howe. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Nationals in front, 14-2.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Jacksonville Nationals (probably) 2021 World Series Champions'," Herd told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Nationals Park in Jacksonville.
