Matzen Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
|
Baylor Bears first baseman Tyler Matzen went 5-for-7 today and paced Baylor to a 6-5 victory over the West Virginia Mountaineers at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium.
"Well, that was fun," Matzen said following the game.
Tyler Matzen flied out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 11th and singled in the 13th.
This season Matzen has delivered 41 hits in 119 at-bats for a .345 average with 11 home runs. He is getting on base at a .423 clip and his totals also include 36 RBIs and 27 runs scored. This year Matzen has played in 36 games.
