Division Series Game 1 Goes to Ft. Wayne, Thanks to Waterman
|
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes started the Division Series in style, downing the visiting Corpus Christi Texans at Earthquakes Stadium by a score of 5-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Earthquakes pinch hitter Jeff Waterman went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Waterman delivered big-time for Ft. Wayne, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Jim Unknown. The game-changing hit put the Earthquakes on top, 5-2.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Waterman said after the game.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Earthquakes Stadium in Ft. Wayne.
