Waco beat Providence at Warlocks Grounds, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Arturo Farias. He went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Mario Acosta came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 4.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-3. The Warlocks are now 31-32.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Waco trailing 4-3, Farias jumped on a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher D.J. Nelson and hit a 2-run home run to left. With one swing, the Warlocks had a walk-off win.
"Sometimes you get the ball in the right spot and it goes," said Farias.
