The Newport Unicorns used an offensive barrage to beat the Aurora Paints, 10-1, at Chanticleers Ballpark. Manny Alarcon led the way, going 2-for-4 for Newport. Newport is now 30-35, Aurora 25-40.

With Newport leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Alarcon hit a slider from Matthew Davi for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Unicorns ahead, 4-1.

Said losing manager Orlando Salinas: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
