Aurora picked up a win at Chanticleers Ballpark, bumping off the Newport Unicorns, 10-5. Pitcher Eric Tate was a major reason the Paints emerged victorious. Tate picked up the win for Aurora, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Aurora has a record of 25-39, placing them 4th in the Sub League 1 Central Division.
Aurora used a well-timed hit by Dave Rotolo to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Paints ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
"Eric is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Aurora manager Orlando Salinas.
