Gonell Silences Medford Bats
In a tight game between the Providence Hex and the Medford Desperados, pitcher Ed Gonell was terrific on the mound. The Providence right-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. Angel Garabito, credited with the save, is now 3 for 3 in save opportunities. Providence now has a record of 34-27 with the win.

Gonell earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for Providence. The native of Merced, California, allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 8. Medford hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.

"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Gonell. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
