Ivan Diaz said he expected the Elite 8 to be "a battle from start to finish."
In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Cincinnati Bearcats encountered little resistance in sweeping the Oklahoma Sooners, to advance to the Final 4.
"It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Diaz.
Cincinnati won the final game by a 4-0 count and were led in the series by Diaz, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .667 with 2 home runs. He also drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Cincinnati Bearcats don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Oklahoma State Cowboys - TCU Horned Frogs series. Oklahoma State leads the series 1 game to 0. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes.
