It's a sweet sweep for the Oklahoma State Cowboys and they have won the Sweet 16. The Kentucky Wildcats were not able to keep pace with the Cowboys and dropped the series in short order, losing, 8-3, in the deciding game.

"This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Kentucky manager Javier Acevedo.

It's now on to the Elite 8 for Oklahoma State after their 2-0 series win.

Leading the way for the winners was shortstop Lyle Blakesley, who was named MVP. For the series, Blakesley hit .556 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Florida Gators - Arizona Wildcats series. Arizona leads the series 1 game to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes.
