ABA College pundits who figured the Sweet 16 between the Florida Gators and Arizona Wildcats would go the distance were right on the mark.

The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Florida coming out on top thanks to a 5-4 win in the deciding game at Hi Corbett Field, to wrap things up 2-1.

"You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Gators shortstop Trevor Cunningham, who was named series MVP.

For the series, Cunningham had 5 hits for a .357 average. He had 1 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Florida Gators will play against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the next round. Oklahoma State won their series against the Kentucky Wildcats 2 games to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes.
