Nittany Lions Prevail, as Elite 8 Goes to the Wire
With a narrow 2-1 series win, the Penn State Nittany Lions have eliminated the Purdue Boilermakers and are Elite 8 winners.

"We tried not to look ahead to the Final 4, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said center fielder Joel Langer, who was named series MVP.

Penn State won the final game by a score of 7-4, wrapping it up at Alexander Field.

Langer's big series saw him hit .615 with a .667 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Penn State Nittany Lions will play against the Michigan State Spartans in the next round. Michigan State won their series against the Louisville Cardinals 2 games to 1. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes.
