Hex Pick Up 2-0 Win Against Medford
|
The Providence Hex topped the Medford Desperados, 2-0, in Sub League 1 action at Ballpark of Providence. The standout performance belonged to Providence pitcher and Germantown, Tennessee, native Jamari Walker. Walker yielded no runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 1-0. Picking up his 1st save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Brian Kyzar.
Providence center fielder Omar Flores said the only thing on his mind when he came to bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the sixth was making good contact. He did that much, and more! Flores hit a 2-run home run to stake Providence to a 2-0 lead. His 7th home run of the season came off Medford pitcher Antonio Rodriguez.
"Feels good to get the job done," Walker said after the game.
With the win, Providence pushed its record to 30-21.
