Runs were plentiful at Chanticleers Ballpark.

Newport got a terrific game from catcher Bill Athan. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Julian, 12-10. Athan was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The Jammers sport a record of 14-36.

Edwin Retana hit a 2-run double off Danny Guerrero in the top of the fifth, which put the Jammers in front, 4-2. In addition to the double, Retana had 2 singles, while going 3 for 6.
