Providence Upended by Santa Ana, 7-2
|
The Santa Ana Black Aces defeated the Providence Hex, 7-2, in part because of catcher Chris Wahl. Wahl went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Black Aces. Isaiah White, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held Providence to 2 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Mike Hrdlicka collected his 4th save.
Kyle Ross helped out the Santa Ana cause in the top of the first inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a walk, while scoring 2 runs.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Ross said.
With the loss, Providence sinks to 15-7.
