Cooper Excels, But Cubs Win
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Ricky Cooper, the Whitby Bats lost to the Franklin Cubs, 12-6. Cooper slugged 3 home runs. Dan Logan was the winner. He's now 2-6. The loser was Julian Cantu. Picking up his 7th save was 19-year old left-handed pitcher Jimmy Lyles.

Matt Boyce took Whitby hurler Julian Cantu deep in the bottom of the fifth. His grand slam home run put the Cubs on top, 7-4. In all, Boyce had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 2.

"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Boyce.

This win makes it 5 in a row for Franklin.
