The Borrego Springs Rams and Whitby Bats left the fans buzzing.
Starting pitcher Ramiro Solis pitched well enough to help the Whitby Bats beat the Borrego Springs Rams, 5-3. Solis got the win, improving to 11-3. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs.
The Bats got a big at-bat from catcher Larry Killian. For the game, Killian went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Whitby a 4-2 lead.
Whitby manager Mike Boyd called it "a pretty good win."
Whitby is sailing along at 92-44.
