Mounties Use Late Score to Top Cubs, 2-1

The Moncton Mounties used a great performance from Greg Brando, who is tied for 4th in the NC with a 8.9 K/9 rate, to beat the Franklin Cubs, 2-1, at Franklin Park. Rich Wade earned the save for Moncton, his 8th of the year. The Mounties now own a record of 72-62.
Jessie Cable's at-bat with no one out in the top of the ninth was critical. The Moncton shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to put his team on top, 2-1. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.
"We were in it," said Franklin manager Kerry McElree. "We just didn't score enough runs."
