Behind a solid performance from catcher Ricky Cortes, the Moncton Mounties defeated the Buffalo Bellflowers, 6-4. Cortes went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI for the Mounties. Joel Cogswell earned the save, his 6th in 10 tries. The first-place Mounties, at 109-25, lead the Northern Conference East Division by 28 games.

With Moncton leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Cortes hit a fastball from Tony Cruz for a 2-run double. It was his 35th double of the season and put the Mounties ahead, 3-0.

"We feel like we're going to win every game right now," said Moncton skipper Johnny Hoffman.
