Cubs Better Princes, 4-3

The Franklin Cubs racked up a win at Franklin Park, bumping off the Lincoln Princes, 4-3. Juan Cazares, who started for Franklin, pitched effectively for his team. Franklin reliever Rich Sargent was the winner. His record is now 4-7. Jim Unknown took the loss. Brent Holt got credit for the save for Franklin. It was his 5th of the year.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, center fielder John Wallick delivered a key hit for the Cubs. With Franklin trailing 3-0, he ripped a 3-run home run.
"I'm happy we won," said Cazares. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
With the win, Franklin goes to 50-82, while the Princes fall to 60-72.
