Moncton Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Nick Riddle, the Moncton Mounties knocked off the Plymouth Rockers in 10 innings, 4-3. Riddle went 2-2 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Mounties. Cory Crabtree, who leads the NC in saves with 27, earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 5-2. Plymouth has now lost 20 in a row.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the tenth, with Moncton trailing 3-2, Riddle hit a changeup from Jim Unknown for a 2-run home run, giving the Mounties the walk-off win.
"Took some scratching and clawing," said Riddle. "But we got it done."
