Long Island Loses Again, 3-2
|
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Moriarty Suns.
In a low-scoring contest between the Moriarty Suns and the Long Island Torpedoes, Amir Carter was the X factor. The Moriarty left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Reliever Chris Anderson picked up the win. His record improves to 3-2. Mark Williams took the loss. Jim Unknown closed it out for his 1st save.
Andy Bennett found himself in a pressure situation in the top of the ninth. Facing Long Island hurler Mark Williams, the 18-year-old shortstop drew a walk, driving in 1 run. His 6th walk of the season put the Suns on top, 3-2.
"Young guys to old guys," said Bennett, "we're all going out there and doing what it takes to win."
The wins continue to add up for Moriarty. The latest makes it 8 in a row.
