Torpedoes Suffer 5-1 Loss to Saint Pierre and Miquelon
|
Jose Navarro never let Long Island get something going. The Saint Pierre and Miquelon right-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Pirates to a 5-1 win. Navarro picked up the win for Saint Pierre and Miquelon, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 0 hits. He now sports a record of 10-5. Saint Pierre and Miquelon leads the Northern Conference West Division by 21½ games.
The Pirates got a big at-bat from first baseman Phil Tibbits. For the game, Tibbits went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 39th home run of the season gave Saint Pierre and Miquelon a 2-0 lead.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Tibbits said.
