Torpedoes Suffer 3-1 Road Loss
|
Getting an impressive start from Travis Williams, Saint Pierre and Miquelon beat Long Island by the score of 3-1. Ryan Doran collected save number 2. The Pirates, at 95-28, have a comfortable 21½-game lead in their division.
The Pirates got a big hit from second baseman Jon Kenyon. In the bottom of the sixth, Kenyon smacked a 2-run home run off Long Island pitcher Luis Torres. It was his 46th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Pirates were ahead, 2-1.
"Not enough offensively in a winnable game," said losing manager Victor Sepulveda.
