Gomez Rips 2 Home Runs in 8-0 Rams Triumph
|
With designated hitter Reed Gomez leading the charge, the Borrego Springs Rams defeated the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates, 8-0, at Club Circle Park. Gomez, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2024 draft, went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Borrego Springs pitcher Roy Garcia got the win. He's now 6-2. Ryan Hadder was tagged with the loss. The triumph puts Borrego Springs at 79-43 for the season.
The Rams got a big hit from first baseman Ryan Bishop. Facing Saint Pierre and Miquelon pitcher Ben Epps in the bottom of the sixth, Bishop pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 18th home run of the season put the Rams ahead, 8-0.
"We were able to put some runs on the board," said Gomez after the game.
