Buffalo turned a good effort from starter Wayne Wright into a win over the Franklin Cubs at Wegman's Field. The Bellflowers won the game, 4-2. Wright, now 8-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The Bellflowers sit in first place in the Northern Conference East Division with a record of 73-48.
Buffalo got a lift in the bottom of the first from third baseman Josh Alcorn, who hit a cutter to right for a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season put the Bellflowers up, 3-0.
"Obviously, you want to go out there and be good every time out," said Wright. "I take the ball every day with the same mindset."
