Mike Reich imposed his will on the Cubs from the get-go. Relying mainly on his cutter, the right-hander spearheaded the 6-1 Buffalo triumph. Reich got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The 'W' lifts Buffalo's record to 72-48.

Tied up with the Cubs in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Bellflowers got a boost from designated hitter Skyler Fundis. With the bases loaded, Fundis saw a 2-2 circle change from Brent Holt and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Buffalo on top, 2-1.

Fundis said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
