Torpedoes Topple Colonels with Late Rally
Spirited fans greeted the Tiverton Colonels for their clash with the Long Island Torpedoes.

Long Island Torpedoes right-hander Miguel Perelsa pitched a good game against the Tiverton Colonels at Field of the Colonels, leading his team to victory, 8-2. The win was credited to D.J. Elliott in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Jim Unknown took the loss.

Long Island used a clutch hit from Brad MacNeil to get the win. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Torpedoes ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," MacNeil told the Long Island Bulletin. "It's as simple as that."

The win hiked the Long Island record to 62-56.
