The Buffalo Bellflowers picked up a win, 7-3, over the Terra Linda Chargers at Ballpark of Plantersville. Danny Espinoza led the charge. The Salisbury, North Carolina native was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Buffalo. The Bellflowers, at 71-46, lead by one game in their division.
Espinoza had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Adam Brittain, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Bellflowers a 5-2 lead. It was the 23rd home run of the year for Espinoza.
"There's ebbs and flows in the season and right now we're just looking to finish strong," said Espinoza.
