Buffalo got a valiant performance from pitcher Jeremy Reich, but it wasn't enough to beat the Moncton Mounties. Moncton won the game, 2-1. Reich threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Ruben Torres sewed up the save, his 5th. With the win, Moncton upped its record to 61-57.
Moncton took a 2-1 lead on Russell D'Alessandro's 16th home run of the season. The solo home run, which D'Alessandro hit in the top of the eighth, left Buffalo pitcher Jeremy Reich visibly frustrated.
"Bottom line," said Buffalo skipper Andy Perez, "we didn't play well enough to win."
