Abingdon third baseman Jason Longstreet had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-3, to Long Island at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Longstreet hit 2 home runs. Steve Quintero got the win, improving to 7-7. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Torpedoes raised their record to 46-70.

Long Island used a well-timed hit by Bob Docampo to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Torpedoes ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Docampo told the Long Island Times.
