Moriarty had no answer for Terra Linda Chargers starter Antonio Martinez, who flummoxed Suns hitters as the Chargers cruised to victory, 11-1. The winner was Martinez. He threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Vinny Alvarenga. Ryan McEntyre was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 18 save opportunities.

Michael Segar had a big 3-run home run for the Chargers in the top of the second inning. With Terra Linda leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from Vinny Alvarenga, who is tied for 6th in the NC in quality starts with 10, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 18th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chargers ahead, 5-0.

"Not much to say," Moriarty manager Ron Kunkleman said, when asked afterward about the defeat.

The victory gives Terra Linda a record of 79-36.
