Bellflowers Rally to Nose Past Franklin
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Buffalo Bellflowers and the Franklin Cubs, 21-year old left-handed pitcher Dave Figley proved to be the difference. The Buffalo left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Bellflowers win. Buffalo reliever Justin Cox picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Mike Watts took the loss. The second-place Bellflowers sport a record of 74-40.
Steve Banks clinched the win with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Buffalo catcher drove in one run.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Banks.
