Bellflowers Get Plucky, 5-4 Win Over Bats
The Buffalo Bellflowers turned back the Whitby Bats, 5-4, at Eláguila Stadia. Chris Cooper, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Buffalo reliever Paul Ganley was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ross Lefkowitz. Steve Ray, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Josh Alcorn delivered a big hit for Buffalo. The third baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bellflowers ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"It was a good effort all around," said Alcorn.

After today's action, Buffalo sits at 70-46; Whitby slips to 71-45.
