Lincoln Gets Another L
|
Centerville Grounds was the site of a competitive game between the Lincoln Princes and Long Island Torpedoes.
Long Island picked up a win at Centerville Grounds, bumping off the Lincoln Princes, 4-3. Pitcher Steve Quintero was a major reason the Torpedoes emerged victorious. Quintero yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-7. Mike Hall notched his 7th save in 9 chances.
Joe Pettit dealt the Princes a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with the bases loaded and Long Island leading 3-1, Pettit hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"We've got to kick it in gear soon," said Lincoln manager Jorge Vasquez.
This loss makes it 8 in a row for Lincoln.
