Both teams had their chances, but the Long Island Torpedoes eventually prevailed.

Good production from designated hitter Mario Carrillo helped the Long Island Torpedoes topple the Whitby Bats, 6-5. Carrillo went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Torpedoes. Andrew Rogers picked up the save for Long Island, his 3rd of the year.

Carrillo had a big hit for Long Island with two out in the top of the fifth. With Long Island leading 3-2, Carrillo hit a 2-run home run. It was his 20th home run of the season and put the Torpedoes up, 5-2.

"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Long Island manager Victor Sepulveda.

Whitby has now lost 5 in a row.
