Whitby registered a win at Mapleton Yards by beating the Moncton Mounties, 6-4. Pitcher Ruben Espinoza was one reason why the Bats triumphed. Angel Alvarez picked up his 11th save of the season. Whitby now owns a record of 89-24.

Whitby used the timely hitting of John Austin to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bats ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"That was a really good outing by Ruben," said Whitby manager David Sawyers.
