Cortes Helps Mounties Beat Princes, 19-6
The first-place Moncton Mounties took on the Lincoln Princes in front of a spirited crowd.

Ricky Cortes, who is tied for 3rd in the NC in runs scored with 120, led Moncton to a triumph over Lincoln. The final score was 19-6. The catcher went 4 for 5, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 4 runs and added 8 RBI. With the win, Moncton upped its record to 96-12.

With Moncton leading 3-2 in the bottom of the second, Cortes came up to bat against Lincoln pitcher Jim Unknown. Cortes hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 24th home run of the season put the Mounties on top, 7-2.

"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Cortes.
