Mounties Send Saint Pierre and Miquelon Home with 10-4 Loss
The Moncton Mounties topped the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates, 10-4, with youngster Travis Grossman playing a key role. Grossman went 4 for 6 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Mounties in the win. The first-place Mounties, at 86-22, now lead their division by 17½ games.

With Moncton leading 4-2 in the top of the sixth, Grossman hit a fastball from Jim Unknown for a 2-run double. It was his 40th double of the season and put the Mounties ahead, 6-2.

"That's what makes it fun -- everybody's jacked up because of the way we've been winning," said Moncton manager Johnny Hoffman.
