Behind a solid performance from right fielder Rob Sellman, the Terra Linda Chargers defeated the Franklin Cubs, 7-1. Sellman went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Chargers. Rob Stech, who is tied for 6th in the NC in strikeouts with 112, was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. The Chargers have an impressive 66-41 record.
With Terra Linda leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Sellman hit a cutter from Adam Williams for a 2-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Chargers ahead, 3-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Sellman told the Terra Linda Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
