It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Izzy Leyva, it came around today.

The 23-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Lincoln Grounds to pace the 13-2 Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates victory over the Lincoln Princes.

Lincoln skipper Andy Hadley told reporters in the press room that "Leyva deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Leyva hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Izzy Leyva singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 9th.

In this current campaign Leyva is hitting at a .316 clip with 22 home runs and 51 RBIs.
