Moncton shortstop David Williams helped his team beat the Long Island Torpedoes, 6-2. Williams, who is tied for 3rd in the NC in bases on balls with 62, went 2 for 4 for the Mounties. Javy Herrera, the winning pitcher, improved to 9-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 1. With the win, the Mounties hiked their record to 67-37.

The game turned with two out in the top of the fourth. That's when Williams hit a grand slam home run off Seiichi Yamaguchi. It propelled the Mounties into the lead, 6-2.

"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Williams.
