The Moncton Mounties beat the Long Island Torpedoes, 17-2, at Centerville Grounds. The Mounties got a fine performance from center fielder Travis Grossman, who was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The win puts Moncton at 66-37 this season.

In the first inning, Grossman had a 2-run home run for Moncton. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Mounties on top, 2-0.

"It kind of got out of hand on us there," said losing manager Moises Gonzalez.
