Randy Ruhl powered the Whitby Bats to a win over the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates. The final score was 8-5. The Whitby designated hitter, who is tied for 6th in the NC in home runs with 27, was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Ramiro Rodriguez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 4 innings. His record is now 5-1. The Bats improved their record to 69-34 with the win over Saint Pierre and Miquelon.

The Pirates had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Bats going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old third baseman Javier Antongiorgi came to the plate. Antongiorgi hit a 2-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from Saint Pierre and Miquelon hurler Efrain Baez. It was Antongiorgi's 11th home run of the year.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Ruhl told the Whitby Bulletin.
