The Franklin Cubs and Lincoln Princes needed extra innings at Lincoln Grounds to determine a winner.

The Franklin Cubs withstood an impressive performance by Lincoln left fielder John Riggle to defeat the Princes, 10-6, at Lincoln Grounds. Riggle went 3-4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The last-place Cubs own a record of 34-66.

Ken Guzman delivered a big hit for Franklin. The designated hitter drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cubs ahead, 10-6. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We got the victory," said Guzman. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
