The Buffalo Bellflowers got a sterling performance from pitcher Daniel Hernandez, but the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates still prevailed, 3-2. Hernandez threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Saint Pierre and Miquelon reliever Dan Martin picked up the win, upping his record to 9-1. Pedro Tello took the loss. Saint Pierre and Miquelon leads the Northern Conference West Division by 2½ games.
Saint Pierre and Miquelon used the timely hitting of Jesse Stopper to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pirates on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It wasn't a very good day at the ballpark," said Buffalo manager Andy Perez.
