Bats Lose at Home, 6-1
|
Moncton Mounties starter Henry Drake hurled his team past the Whitby Bats, 6-1. In 6.1 innings, Drake surrendered 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The third-place Mounties have won 6 consecutive games.
Moncton used the clutch hitting of Dallas Remmert to snag the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mounties ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Moncton manager Kevin Squillace.
