Torpedoes Lose Again, 12-7, to Pirates
Spinners Ballpark was the site for Northern Conference action featuring the Long Island Torpedoes and Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates.

The Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates topped the Long Island Torpedoes, 12-7, with catcher Cory Bloodsaw playing a big role. Bloodsaw hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Pirates in the win. Evan Sippel recorded his 14th save for Saint Pierre and Miquelon.

The Pirates got an important contribution from shortstop Chih Ren, who in the bottom of the third punched a 1-1 fastball to center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Pirates ahead, 6-2.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Bloodsaw said. "We did a good job of that today."

Long Island is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
