Moncton Sent Home with 6-5 Loss
|
The Borrego Springs Rams overcame a pretty good performance by Moncton first baseman Brian Evans, beating the Mounties, 6-5, at Club Circle Park. Evans was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Borrego Springs now sits at 62-33, while Moncton falls to 61-34.
In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Josh Lewandowski gave Borrego Springs the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Rams had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Moncton pitcher Diego Garcia changed that -- and Borrego Springs went on to win.
In postgame comments to the Borrego Springs Today, Lewandowski said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
