The Borrego Springs Rams stopped the Moncton Mounties, 7-4, behind an impressive performance from Ivan Hernandez. The 18-year old left fielder made life miserable for Moncton pitching. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ernesto Morales earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 3-2. Borrego Springs is second in the Northern Conference West Division with a record of 61-32.

In the bottom of the ninth, with the score tied, Hernandez hammered a 3-run home run to win it for Borrego Springs.

Despite the victory, Hernandez was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
