Buffalo left-hander Xiao-xuan Gong helped his team edge Tiverton by the score of 3-2. Gong kept the opposing lineup in check. Buffalo reliever Mike Cousin picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Jim Unknown took the loss. Zach Kyte was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities.
Buffalo took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Nick Machuca hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Bellflowers in front, 3-2.
"Xiao-xuan gave us a heck of an effort," said Buffalo manager Andy Perez.
Today's win puts Buffalo at 60-32, while Tiverton falls to 55-37.
