The inspired effort of Lincoln designated hitter Tim Lunsford was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Moncton Mounties. Lunsford went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Princes, at 32-60, have lost 4 in a row.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Moncton. That's when Jessie Cable hit a run-scoring double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Cable said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
